With this brand new interpretation of Ten Ping , Ruby Red Galleria evolves her iconic character and takes us into a new episode of her story.

Ten Ping is now 15 years old . After a long journey from Shanghai, she has finally reunited with her family in Hong Kong . But behind the joy of the reunion lies a much more difficult reality.

The family lives in a tiny, stifling apartment, devoid of even the most basic comforts. No television, not even a fan… Faced with this precarious existence, young Ten Ping makes a decision: she wants to work to help her family and offer them a better life.

Ten Ping's first work

His mother then took him to a wig factory , where Ten Ping landed his very first job for a salary of only six dollars a day .

Small and very young, she unfortunately quickly becomes the target of the older workers. They look down on her and make her work particularly difficult. Each day becomes a real ordeal for Ten Ping, severely testing her courage and determination.

But these difficulties are nothing compared to what awaits him…

A new rule is suddenly introduced in the factory and could simply prohibit him from continuing to work.

Will Ten Ping lose the job her family so desperately needs? Or will she find an unexpected way to stay?

A brand new 33cm Ten Ping

This edition marks a real evolution of the character: Ten Ping is here represented as a teenager , in a new 33 cm / 13 inch format.

Her delicately painted face is sprinkled with soft freckles , giving her a particularly natural and endearing expression. She has black hair styled in two long braids adorned with ribbons, and beautiful brown eyes.

Her outfit, inspired by her story, plays on layering and mixing patterns. A colorful floral shirt is worn under a dark tunic with delicate prints, while wide-legged striped trousers complete this silhouette full of character.
